The Picopresso is the most compact espresso machine in the Wacaco range and offers optimal and excellent espresso enjoyment, no matter where you are. With a pressure of up to 12 bar, the Picropresso enables a perfect extraction that can compete with a full-fledged portafilter. The water tank holds around 80ml, the sieve the usual 18g. In just around 30 seconds, the Picopresso makes you an espresso with a perfect crema.

The high-quality stainless steel housing ensures durability and the precise construction ensures simple and reliable operation without any electricity.

Thanks to its slim and compact design, it fits easily into any hiking backpack or travel bag. Tolles Set für die Reise

Ich habe mir die Wacaco Picopresso und passend dazu die Timemore C3 ESP Pro geholt. Ein schönes kompaktes Set für die Reise. Nach den ersten Bezügen kann ich sagen, dass man damit halbwegs unkompliziert leckere Espressi unterwegs machen kann.

How is the necessary pressure created for correct espresso preparation?

By pumping through the small pump button on the Picopresso, the pressure/water chamber of the machine is filled with air until around 12 bar is created in the container. The hot water is then pressed through a pressure valve into the coffee puck and extracted with the perfect pressure for an espresso, which is also achieved with standard espresso machines. The result is a balanced espresso with a perfect crema.

How fine should the coffee grounds be for the Picopresso?

Since the Picopresso behaves like a "large" espresso machine, the coffee grounds should be very fine. As with any coffee machine, it is important to find the right amount for each bean.
Our recommendation: With the Timemore Slim 3 use 7 clicks and about 16.5 grams of our espresso, then the sieve is well filled and you can get a nice espresso extraction by tamping with the included tamper.

What is the taste and extraction of the espresso?

Thanks to the standardized coffee sieve and the even pressure generated by pumping, a consistently creamy and high-quality espresso extraction is possible, which is very close to that of a hand lever machine such as the Flair.
